YouTube Adds New Features

YouTube has updated the flash-based look of their video player! The new player has a glossy appearance with a red time bar, though personally I preferred the old design.

Some notable new features:

  • Browse videos by categories like Music, Entertainment, Sports, People and more
  • New “Most Linked” section under the Video tab showing videos embedded across other websites
  • Improved video quality for new uploads, with less quality loss during processing

These quality improvements may be laying groundwork for future features like hosting music videos. Keep up the good work, YouTube!
